A rock collector and enthusiast, Michael Anastassiades investigated the possibility to associate the sense of smell to elements that are usually admired only with the senses of sight and touch. Rocc recreates similar imaginary experiences conveyed by the “smell” of stones. The scent of each selected stone is closely linked to the Proust phenomenon – an involuntary memory of emotions, each triggered by an extraordinary sensory stimulus.
